Fantastic Four: The First Steps — A Fantastic Film - Movie Review
Well, they did it, ladies and gentlemen. Marvel Studios has finally delivered a Fantastic Four film that truly feels like a Fantastic Four film.
From the opening moments to the end credits, Fantastic Four: The First Steps shines as one of the most visually stunning and emotionally satisfying entries in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to date. It’s colorful, full of heart, and packed with classic Marvel flair, but this time, it genuinely feels like a comic book has come to life.
π Stellar Performances
Let’s talk about this cast.
-
Julia Garner as Silver Surfer was a standout. Her performance was commanding, emotional, and magnetic. Every time she was on screen, you felt her power and presence she and Herbie were the stars of the show!
-
Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm / Human Torch completely won me over. He brings humor, fire (pun intended), and heart to the role. A perfect casting.
-
Pedro Pascal gives a thoughtful and commanding performance as Reed Richards. He plays Reed with both intellect and warmth, surprising me in the best way possible.
-
Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm is also fantastic. She radiates power and grace, exactly what the Invisible Woman should be.
Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm/ The Thing was also truly awesome and fantastic. He did so well!
The chemistry between the four leads made it feel like a real family dynamic, a crucial element for any Fantastic Four movie.
πͺ Galactus Is Here
Without spoiling anything, when Galactus shows up, you’ll know. Voiced by Ralph Ineson, his portrayal brings dread, awe, and weight. His presence is felt a cosmic force that steals the screen with every word and movement.
π΅ Soundtrack & Score
The music? Phenomenal. Perfectly scored scenes that elevate the action and emotion. One of the best MCU soundtracks in recent memory.
π¬ The Theater Experience
I attended an early screening, and the experience made it all the more special. The cast even sent a pre-show video greeting to audiences, which added an extra layer of excitement.
Herbie was also the star of the show. Herbie was great and had some awesome comedic moments during the film, and I am quite happy with how much we got of Herbie during this film. I do hope there's more of Herbie in the future. He is one of my favorites. I do believe we will see Herbie again.
Before I close out my review of Marvel Studios' The Fantastic Four: The First Steps, I just want to say that I really loved this film; it had me feel every emotion ever, and it felt so good to leave the theater smiling after finally seeing truly what a well written, created, dirceted and story for Marvel's First Family was like and this movie is just that I loved it I hope to see it again soon weather on big screen one more time or at home when it releases on digital I will be there to watch it again.
Another treat? The first teaser trailer for Avatar: Fire and Ash, played before the film, and let me tell you, it was gorgeous.
π₯ Avatar: Fire and Ash First Teaser Trailer Reaction
The visuals were jaw-dropping. If you thought The Way of Water raised the bar, Fire and Ash is about to obliterate it. It looks cinematic, emotional, and carries a tone of something truly epic. The blend of elemental fire and James Cameron’s signature visual language is going to look incredible in both IMAX and IMAX 3D.
I can't wait for this film. It looks like the culmination of everything James Cameron has been building toward.
