Everything announced at State of Play February 12, 2026
PlayStation State of Play (February 2026) – My Full Breakdown of Every Reveal
Sony’s February 12, 2026, State of Play was a proper “one more thing” kind of night. It ran a little over an hour and bounced between new reveals, fresh gameplay looks, release date confirmations, and a few “wait, that’s out now?” moments.
This blog is my own recap and reaction, built from the official PlayStation Blog roundup, so it’s easy to scan, share, and bookmark.
The big mood of the show
There were two main flavors here:
1) Legacy energy
Old legends coming back, sometimes in surprising forms: God of War (Greek saga remake + a 2D spinoff), Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2, Legacy of Kain remastered, and Rayman’s 30th Anniversary Edition.
2) “New game smell.”
A Bond origin story with IO’s fingerprints, a co-op shinobi project, horror creeping in with Capcom and Silent Hill, and a few “this looks weird, I’m in” curveballs.
My personal headline picks
If I had to circle the “stop scrolling” announcements:
-
God of War: Greek trilogy remake confirmed in early development, plus God of War: Sons of Sparta is a 2D action-platformer, and it’s out now on PS5. That is a wild combo.
-
John Wick: Saber Interactive is making a game set in an unseen chapter of Wick’s life. “Gun-fu” and driving are explicitly part of the promise, with the official title and date still unannounced.
-
Marathon: Launching March 5, with a Server Slam starting Feb 26 so players can try select content early and earn rewards that carry forward.
-
Saros: Housemarque showed more of the systems and the pressure-cooker escalation concept, and it’s launching April 30 on PS5.
-
Resident Evil Requiem: A launch trailer and the game are almost here, arriving February 27.
Everything announced (with the key details)
Action, adventure, and big-screen energy
007 First Light – A new story trailer focused on IO Interactive’s origin take on Bond, including a mission path that starts in Iceland and pulls him toward the revived 00 program, plus key characters like John Greenway and a rogue 009.
John Wick – A new entry built with the film creators, aiming to translate the franchise’s signature style (cinematic environments, gun-fu, and driving) into gameplay. No official title or release date yet, but it’s coming to PS5.
Kena: Scars of Kosmora – Ember Lab returns with a new adventure starring an older, more established Kena on the island of Kosmora. Spirit companions return and evolve with you, and combat expands with elemental strategy. Coming to PS5 and PC this year, per the roundup.
Pragmata – A deeper look at Capcom’s sci-fi adventure starring Hugh and his android companion Diana, built around hacking and combat against hostile threats. Launches April 24 on PS5.
Multiplayer, co-op, and squad-friendly chaos
Ghost of Yōtei Legends – A supernatural co-op multiplayer update launching March 10 as part of the 1.5 update, free to all Ghost of Yōtei players. New classes, mission types, cosmetics, and a Raid planned later.
4: Loop – A closer breakdown of this four-player co-op shooter’s core loop and systems, with mentions of upcoming beta opportunities.
Crimson Moon – A gothic action-adventure RPG with solo play or co-op, where co-op changes the intensity using dynamic scaling and shifting enemy compositions. Coming later this year on PS5.
Yakoh Shinobi Ops – Four-player online, isometric shinobi action on PS5 next year, focused on infiltration runs, teamwork, and escaping an “unstoppable Pursuer” that can end the run.
Horror corner (because the universe loves us and hates us)
Resident Evil Requiem – Launching February 27, with a new launch trailer shown during the event.
Silent Hill: Townfall – A new Silent Hill entry featuring a first-person perspective and utilizing a retro portable CRT TV device as both a tool and a storytelling reveal mechanic.
Fighters, steel, and glorious violence as an art form
Dead or Alive 6 Last Round – The “definitive” version is coming to PS5 on June 25, with both standard and free-to-play versions at launch. Team Ninja also teased that a brand-new main entry is in development.
MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls – Launches August 6 on PS5 and PC, with pre-orders opening Feb 19. New roster additions shown include Magik, Wolverine, and Danger, plus confirmation of an Episode Mode and multiple editions.
Classics and legacy revivals
God of War – Greek trilogy remake confirmed in early development, plus the surprise drop: God of War: Sons of Sparta, a 2D action platformer made with Mega Cat Studios, out now on PS5.
Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 – Launches August 27 on PS5, including MGS4: Guns of the Patriots, MGS: Peace Walker, and Metal Gear: Ghost Babel as a bonus title, plus extras.
Legacy of Kain: Defiance Remastered – Launches March 3 on PS5 and PS4, with modern refinements, archival material, and a Deluxe Edition featuring a playable demo of the cancelled sequel Dark Prophecy.
Rayman: 30th Anniversary Edition – A definitive package for the 1995 platformer, launching digitally on PS5 February 13, including multiple versions, extra levels, a reimagined soundtrack, optional enhancements, an interactive documentary, and a newly playable prototype.
Strategy, RPGs, and “this has lore, and I respect it”
Beast of Reincarnation – A “one person, one dog” action RPG set in a devastated far-future Japan. Launches August 4 on PS5 and mixes real-time sword combat with command-based companion control for Koo.
Brigandine Abyss – A new entry in the fantasy strategy RPG series, returning this year with hex-grid battles.
Rev.Noir – A new JRPG (PlayStation Blog calls it a “JPRG”) set in a world threatened by “lightfall,” following a boy with lost memories and a mysterious girl on a journey to stop the catastrophe.
Project Windless – A dark fantasy open-world action RPG inspired by the Korean novel series The Bird That Drinks Tears, set thousands of years before the books and starring the Rekons, a nomadic warrior race of humanoid birds.
Demos and near-term dates worth highlighting
Darwin’s Paradox – Release date April 2, with a demo available tomorrow (relative to the show).
Mina the Hollower – Launching this spring with a limited-time PS5 demo dropping tomorrow, and it sounds like Yacht Club is going huge (bosses, modifiers, upgrades, and more).
Neva: Prologue (DLC) – A prequel story about how Alba and the wolf cub Neva met, launching February 19.
Death Stranding 2: On the Beach (PC) – Coming to PC March 19, with new features/modes arriving on PS5 the same day via update.
PlayStation Plus notes
A quick but meaningful PS Plus segment:
-
Big Walk is coming day one to Monthly Games later this year.
-
Classics for Premium: Tekken Dark Resurrection in March, Time Crisis in May.
-
February Game Catalog (Feb 17) includes Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown, Neva, Season: A Letter to the Future, plus Disney Pixar Wall-E for Premium.
Final thoughts
This State of Play felt like Sony stacking the deck with variety. It had the comfort-food history (God of War, MGS, Rayman, Legacy of Kain) and the “future-hook” stuff (Marathon’s runway, Saros’ systems, Pragmata’s vibe, Silent Hill’s new angle).
Personally, I love it when a show doesn’t try to be one thing. Give me spectacle, give me weird experiments, give me a demo tomorrow, and then cap it with something that makes my group chat combust. This one understood the assignment.
