Today, I'm excited to introduce CJK Gamebrief, a new gaming news project connected to my YouTube channel and Carson Kelly Blogs. The idea is simple: give gaming news a consistent home across my content, with clear reporting, useful context, and room for a good conversation. Whether it's a new announcement, an update to a game, or a developing story about the industry, I want to take a closer look at what's happening and explain why it matters to the people playing. Gaming news. Clear context. That's the line at the heart of CJK Gamebrief. Gaming news moves quickly. An announcement, a report, and a rumour can travel through social media in much the same way. With Gamebrief, I want to make those distinctions easy to follow: what has been confirmed, where the information comes from, and what we still need to learn. There will also be room for my own reactions and perspective, with a clear distinction between the news and my take on it. I want this to feel like part of the ...

I absolutely loved Girls Like Girls. It is a beautiful story and the kind of film I am very happy to recommend. I unfortunately missed it on the big screen, so my first experience with it was at home. That still made for a great watch. Sitting down to enjoy a film at home is one of my favorite things to do when I get the chance. Directed by Hayley Kiyoko, Girls Like Girls follows Coley as she experiences first love and begins to accept herself. Adapted from Kiyoko's song and novel, the film stars Maya da Costa and Myra Molloy. Its romantic coming-of-age story sits firmly in a genre I love. The story was what I connected with most. I had a really good time watching it, and I found it beautiful. Sometimes my response to a movie is simply that I enjoyed being caught up in its story and want other people to have the chance to experience it too. That is exactly where I am with Girls Like Girls. I am really happy that films like this continue to be made. I love seeing romance and coming-...

The wait is over. The fourth nightmare begins today. I’m excited to share that NIGHTMARES EDGE PART IV , the fourth mainline installment in my horror series, officially launches today, Friday, October 23, 2026 , from Carson Kelly Publishing . A new cast. A new world. A new nightmare. Get NIGHTMARES EDGE PART IV — Find Your Retailer Part IV takes the series into a haunting world inspired by feudal Japan, where supernatural horror, dark fantasy, witchcraft, mystery, and psychological terror come together. People from dramatically different walks of life find their paths drawn together through encounters with mysterious tribes connected to witchcraft. What awaits them reaches beyond anything they understand, turning an encounter with the unknown into a desperate struggle for survival. As the boundaries between reality, folklore, and nightmare begin to collapse, the danger becomes increasingly difficult to comprehend and even harder to escape. For this installment, I wanted the setting and...

A full-game review after more than 100 hours, a New Game Plus run, and the Platinum Trophy. Spoiler notice: The opening sections discuss my overall experience without revealing the ending. A clearly marked section later in this review contains major ending spoilers. The final section also includes my personal hopes for a possible follow-up. Marvel’s Wolverine is a game I had fun playing and still came away disappointed with. That is a frustrating place to land, especially with a studio I have loved for so many years. Insomniac Games has made some of my favorite games, and I went into this one genuinely excited to see what its team would do with Logan. After spending more than 100 hours with the game, earning the Platinum Trophy, and returning for New Game Plus, my feelings are settled: this is a rare swing and a miss for me. There is a lot here that I appreciate. The performances are a highlight. The game looks fantastic, and my experience was technically smooth, with little to no tro...

I Highly Recommend Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2; here is my full review.  After absolutely loving the first season of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, I was excited to see another story set in this world. Now that I have watched Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2, I am happy to say I absolutely enjoyed it. It is a fun standalone return to Cyberpunk, with great music, memorable characters, and plenty of reasons to keep looking forward to this series. The original Edgerunners left a huge impression on me. Going into this second installment, the appeal was the chance to spend time with a different cast and see another side of a world I already love. Edgerunners 2 gave me that experience, and I had a great time with it.

My favorite campaign of the reboot era and in my personal Call of Duty top ten campaigns of all time Scope: Campaign review following early access. This article opens without story spoilers, then moves into a clearly marked discussion of the campaign, final mission and post-credits scene. Public artwork contains only previously released official promotional imagery. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 has become my favorite campaign of the Modern Warfare reboot era that began in 2019. I also consider it my favorite Call of Duty campaign since that era began, and it has earned a place in my personal top ten across the series. After more than twenty years with Call of Duty, that is a statement I am very happy to stand behind. My history with the series reaches back to Call of Duty 2: Big Red One. The original Black Ops, the original Modern Warfare trilogy, and Call of Duty 3 are among the campaigns I hold closest. Those games set a high bar for what I want from this franchise. Modern Warfare...

Gears of War: E-Day has quickly become one of my favorite games in the franchise. I love this series, and based on my time with it, E-Day belongs alongside the original trilogy in my personal top four. It brings back the kind of shooter experience I associate with the 2000s, and I have had a damn good time with it. This review reflects my experience with the campaign on Xbox Series X. I am keeping the discussion spoiler-free, including when I talk about what I hope comes next for Gears. For context, E-Day follows Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago during the beginning of the Locust invasion, fourteen years before the original Gears of War. It gives the series an earlier chapter to explore, while returning to characters and a conflict that mean a great deal to longtime fans.
