Everything Announced at PlayStation State of Play + State of Play Japan — September 2026
PlayStation’s massive September 3, 2026 State of Play double feature has officially wrapped.
After a few days of anticipation, predictions, and speculation, PlayStation delivered both its traditional State of Play and State of Play Japan presentations back-to-back, showcasing more than 30 games across the two broadcasts.
There were new game reveals, release dates, gameplay demonstrations, expansions, PlayStation Plus additions, accessories, and some genuinely major announcements.
I also hosted my own live co-stream throughout the event, which stretched into a huge morning of PlayStation coverage.
If you missed either presentation, here is a rundown of everything PlayStation announced.

Final Fantasy VII Revelation Gets a Release Date
Square Enix closed the primary State of Play with an extensive look at Final Fantasy VII Revelation, the final chapter of the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy.
The game officially launches April 8, 2027, on PS5.
The extended presentation showed the Highwind being used to explore the expanded world alongside returning chocobo traversal, a grappling gun, instant character switching, and the new FITS combat system.
Pre-orders are available now.
Marvel’s Wolverine Gets Its Launch Trailer
With launch now less than two weeks away, Insomniac Games debuted the official Marvel’s Wolverine Launch Trailer.
The trailer offered another glimpse at Logan’s journey, his relationship with allies including Jean Grey and members of Team X, and additional characters players will encounter.
Marvel’s Wolverine launches worldwide for PS5 on September 15, 2026.
Metro 2039 Shows PS5 Pro Gameplay
4A Games debuted the first console gameplay for Metro 2039, captured on PlayStation 5 Pro.
The new footage follows the mysterious Stranger through the post-apocalyptic ruins of Moscow while showcasing exploration, stealth, survival mechanics, and combat.
Metro 2039 officially launches February 4, 2027 on PS5.
Until Dawn 2 Launches January 2027
We also received another substantial look at Until Dawn 2.
Developed by Firesprite in collaboration with AdHoc Studio, the sequel follows the Dead True paranormal investigation crew as their story brings them from Blackwood Sanitorium to the mysterious Akishima Island.
And, just like the original, your decisions can have deadly consequences.
Until Dawn 2 launches January 28, 2027 for PS5, with pre-orders beginning September 10.
Grand Theft Auto VI Gets Two Limited-Edition DualSense Controllers

PlayStation and Rockstar also revealed two limited-edition Grand Theft Auto VI DualSense controllers.
A White Limited Edition takes inspiration from the bright, colorful daytime side of Vice City, while the Black Limited Edition represents its neon-lit nightlife.
Both feature GTA VI branding, color-shifting finishes, and molded palm-tree details.
The controllers launch November 19 alongside Grand Theft Auto VI, with pre-orders beginning September 10.
