LANTERNS Season 1, Episode 5 Review — BEST Episode of Season 1!

Five episodes into LANTERNS, and I think we may have just gotten the best episode of the season so far.

Episode 5 really worked for me.

Everything that has been building throughout these first few weeks feels like it is beginning to come together in a much bigger way, while at the same time creating even more questions about where this story could possibly go next.

And honestly, that is probably my favorite thing about this episode.

I genuinely have no idea where LANTERNS is heading from here.

The series has spent its first several episodes establishing its characters, mystery and larger direction, but Episode 5 feels like the point where things start becoming even more exciting.

Kyle Chandler and Aaron Pierre continue to be fantastic as Hal Jordan and John Stewart, and their performances remain one of the biggest strengths of the series for me. Their different personalities and approaches continue to make their dynamic incredibly fun to watch.

The pacing also really worked for me this week. Episode 5 feels important without losing the slower mystery-driven style that has defined LANTERNS so far.

We're officially into the second half of Season 1 now, and I feel more invested than I have at any previous point.

The first four episodes gave us a lot to think about.

Episode 5 takes that foundation and makes me even more curious about what the final stretch of this season has waiting for us.

If this is the direction we're heading in, then these final three episodes could be something very special.

LANTERNS Episode 5 is easily my favorite episode of the season so far.

I loved it.

And now I genuinely have no idea what comes next.

Bring on Episode 6. 🟢

The story of Michael Jackson is one almost everyone knows. His rise from a gifted young performer in the Jackson Five to becoming the King of Pop remains one of the most recognizable journeys in entertainment history. Unfortunately, MICHAEL did not tell that familiar story with the quality or refinement I expected. This is not a film I completely disliked.
