Until Dawn 2 Launches January 28, 2027 — New Story Details, Dr. Hill Returns and More

The nightmare continues early next year.

During today’s PlayStation State of Play, Firesprite officially confirmed that Until Dawn 2 launches January 28, 2027, for PlayStation 5.

The sequel follows Dead True, a team of paranormal-investigation YouTubers whose search for supernatural stories eventually brings them to Akishima Island.

Before that journey begins, the crew investigates Blackwood Sanitorium and the tragic events that occurred there 12 years earlier, providing a direct connection to the history of the original Until Dawn.

Firesprite has partnered with AdHoc Studio, the team behind Dispatch, to help craft the story.

Once again, decisions sit at the center of the experience.

Relationships, conversations and seemingly small choices can radically alter what happens and who survives.

The new trailer offered several examples of these decisions, from characters choosing different paths while searching for missing friends to considerably darker situations in which survival can depend on a single choice.

And one familiar face is coming back.



Peter Stormare returns as Dr. Hill.

Pre-orders begin September 10, with pre-order bonuses including Dr. Hill-themed content, outfits, and collectible bobbleheads.

A Digital Deluxe Edition was also announced, featuring the Y2K Neon Vibes costume pack and Diorama of Death, which lets players revisit the game’s gruesome death sequences from different angles.

Until Dawn 2 arrives exclusively on PS5 on January 28, 2027.

PlayStation State of Play Returns September 24: What to Expect

PlayStation has officially confirmed that a brand-new State of Play is happening Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at 2 PM PT / 5 PM ET / 11 PM CEST (September 25 at 6 AM JST) via their PlayStation blog and official PlayStation channels. The State Of Play will run for more than 35 minutes and feature updates from PlayStation Studios, along with third-party and indie titles from developers around the world.
